Liquids:
- maintain fixed volume
- vary in shape to fill their containers
- flow along paths of least resistance to a point of greatest gravity
- maintain surface tension
Water:
- is transparent
- is almost colorless
- is almost tasteless
- is cohesive
- is adhesive
- dissolves many things
- evaporates easily
Clouds & Fog:
- are said to consist of liquid water particles suspended in air
Alcohol:
- is usually liquid at room temperature
- is flammable
- burns with a blue flames
- burns smoke free
- often has a sweet scent
- dissolves some things water can’t
Oils:
- lubricate
- repel water
- float on water
- are not dissolved in water
- are slow to evaporate
- are often flammable
Mercury:
- is a metal
- remains a liquid at room temperature
- breaks into beads when spilled
