Water


These are things I’ve seen or done, though of other input there may be a sliver.
Though I claim to know these things, your experience may differ.

Liquids:

  • maintain fixed volume
  • vary in shape to fill their containers
  • flow along paths of least resistance to a point of greatest gravity
  • maintain surface tension

Water:

  • is transparent
  • is almost colorless
  • is almost tasteless
  • is cohesive
  • is adhesive
  • dissolves many things
  • evaporates easily

Clouds & Fog:

  • are said to consist of liquid water particles suspended in air

Alcohol:

  • is usually liquid at room temperature
  • is flammable
  • burns with a blue flames
  • burns smoke free
  • often has a sweet scent
  • dissolves some things water can’t

Oils:

  • lubricate
  • repel water
  • float on water
  • are not dissolved in water
  • are slow to evaporate
  • are often flammable

Mercury:

  • is a metal
  • remains a liquid at room temperature
  • breaks into beads when spilled
